ZWEDRU, July 27 (LINA) – Ahead of Liberia’s 175th Independence Day celebration in Grand Gedeh County, a group under the banner ‘Clar Marie Weah Concerned Women In Grand Gedeh County’ has launched a clean-up and decoration campaign in Zwedru, the capital of the county.

The group, comprising predominantly women from various backgrounds in the county, was organized in November 2021 to identify with and provide humanitarian assistance to vulnerable and war-affected persons including people living with disability, prison centers and hospitals.

The clean-up campaign, which began on Saturday, July 23, will continue up to July 25, 2022.

According to the group’s leader, Watchen Boley, the activities of the group are in support of the many meaningful contributions of the First Lady, Madam Clar Marie Weah, across the country.

The Speaker of the group, Miss Rena Brown, disclosed that they have outlined good plans, but lamented that most of their planned activities are being hindered by financial difficulties.

At the same time, the group is calling on other women across the country to support the effort of the First Lady in her quest to ensure that women are empowered, and youths and children are catered to by their communities.
