Tagbato(V/R), March 16, GNA- Ms Abla Dzifa Gomashie, the former Deputy Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, has called for a collaboration between the people of Agbozumè and those from Agortimè Kpetoe for an Ewe kete Festival.
She said culture is dynamic and « we need to preserve, protect and promote our heritage for the benefit of posterity. »
Ms Gomashie, in an interview with the Ghana News Agency during the celebration of the 4th Tagbato Kete Za, urged the youth to take advantage of the experience of the older generation to learn a vocation.
The event was held under the theme: « Anlo Kete, the Pride of our Culture. »
« The Creative Arts Sector has room to accommodate a lot of young people and dedication and hard work pays, » she said.
She said UNESCO was promoting the Intangible Cultural Heritage and Ghana needed to join the lead and take strides to protect what was authentically Ghanaian.
Ms Gomashie said the Creative Arts is appreciated around the world and the world is hungry for authentic African Art and  » we must position ourselves to feed that hunger  »
Dumega Innocent Nyameshie, an Opinion Leader, said the festival celebration had been a dream come true for the community.
He said David Kugbey, the assemblyman and an indigene of the area’s innovation, determination and hard work has made it possible for the community to have some developmental projects.
Dumega Nyameshie commended some individuals and personalities for championing the construction of the Akaglakofe School, donations of street lights and other projects for the area.
He also appealed to government, NGOs and citizens of the area living aboard to come to the aid of the community by providing potable drinking water, motorable roads, health posts and school structures.
