Suez, Egypt, July 03, GNA- Black Stars left back Baba Abdul Rahman has said, the team’s purpose of winning the 2019 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) is on course after qualifying to the knock-out stages by beating Guinea-Bissau 2:0 in the final Group F match at Suez Sports Stadium on Tuesday.

In an interview with GNA Sports, Abdul Rahman said the most important thing was booking a ticket to the next round of the competition, which they have done, though the team still had so much to work on.

“We have picked ourselves out from game to game and the win was very important to us, we had a bit of nervy moments in the first half, but we managed to overcome that.

“The team’s purpose is to win this year’s tournament, this would be my third AFCON and I can tell you that we are prepared for the challenge ahead.

“Though it would not come easy, with determination and hard work we can make it” he added.

A goal each from Jordan Ayew and Thomas Partey sealed the day for Ghana to top Group F with five points from three games having already played 2:2 with Benin in the opening game and a goalless draw game against Cameroon.
