MONROVIA, Jan. 12 (LINA) – The Commercial Court at the Temple of Justice has lifted the Writ of Garnishment seeking to freeze the accounts of Warti Bility, the wife of top businessman Musa Bility’s son, Sidikie Bility.
The Son of the businessman had filed a petition before the Commercial Court asking it to place a garnishment on the accounts of his wife Warti Bility’s business.
In the petition, Sidikie Bility claimed to be the majority shareholder to the Royalty Enterprise Incorporated while his wife owns minority, prompting him to ask the court to freeze the accounts.
But from the business registry, Sidikie Bility is not part of the business as shareholder leading the Court to lift the Writ of Garnishment being placed to freeze his wife’s accounts.
Therefore, Associate Judge of the Commercial Court, Judge Chan- Chan Paegar has ordered the Clerk of Court to prepare a notice to concerned banking intuitions informing them to reopen and allow Warti Bility to access her accounts at will.
The petition was filed in September 2020 at the Court against her personal Bank account and that of her business, Royalty Enterprises at UBA Bank.
A writ of garnishment is a process by which the court orders the seizure or attachment of the property of a defendant or judgment debtor in the possession or control of a third party.
The garnishee is the person or corporation in possession of the property of the defendant or judgment debtor.
Sidikie Bility and his wife have been facing a series of confusion since last year, and are at the point of divorce.
Meanwhile, the Commercial Court has finally lifted the writ of garnishment placed on the accounts of Warti Bility.
