Praia, Sep 21 (Inforpress) – The Government wants to include 50% of Cabo Verdeans who are outside the social security system, making Cabo Verde a country “much more inclusive and fair”, revealed today the Minister Fernando Elísio Freire.
The Minister said that Cabo Verde has a social security system “very robust, qualified, with strict management” and has allowed to comply with Cabo Verdeans in social security, but acknowledged that it is necessary to expand the number of Cabo Verdeans enrolled in the system.
He assured that one of the Government’s goals for this legislature is to extend social security to a large number of the Cabo Verdean population, as it has now ensured that only 50% of Cabo Verdeans have access to the compulsory social system.
“To increase this number, it goes not only through the legislation already exists, but above all by strengthening the integration of so-called informally professions such as farmers, fishermen, saleswomen, carpenters and all who are professions companies and individual names are dedicated to their task individually should be called into the social security system”, he referred.
