Praia, Jul 22 (Inforpress) – The Dean of the University of Cabo Verde today highlighted the relevance of the alliance between universities and the State in training staff with skills, aiming to respond to the demands and achieve the country’s objectives.
Judite Nascimento made these considerations during the opening ceremony, by videoconference, of the Specialization Course in Local Development and Agenda 2030, open to 26 participants representing local authorities. The Dean guaranteed that the course, offered by the School of Business and Governance, means for the public university an additional opportunity to contribute to the development of the country.
The United Nations office representative in Cabo Verde expressed full support for specialization, considering that in times of crisis, such as the COVID-19 pandemic, it is necessary to train and organize so that public resources are increasingly better organized, aiming to help people in need.
The United Nations representative, Opia Kumah, considered it crucial to identify the beneficiaries using the defined indicators, so that local growth can have concrete results in the decentralization of development.
