Rabat, 26/04/2024 (MAP) – Appeals Jury of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has rejected the appeal lodged by USM Alger against the decision imposed on it by the Confederation’s Interclub Competitions Committee granting RS Berkane victory by forfeit in the first leg of the CAF Cup semi-final.

In a statement, the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) said that it had received on Friday a copy of CAF Appeals Jury’s decision regarding the Algerian club’s appeal against the decision of the Interclub Competitions Committee which sanctioned it with a 3-0 forfeit in favor of RS Berkane, and decided to submit this case to the Confederation’s disciplinary board for possible additional sanctions.

The Appeals Jury thus confirmed the decisions of CAF Interclub Competitions Committee, adopted unanimously by its nine members, granting RS Berkane victory over USM Alger by 3 goals in the first leg of CAF Cup semi-final.

It also confirmed the Interclub Committee’s decision to submit the case to CAF disciplinary board for possible additional sanctions.
