WEDABO DISTRICT, Sept. 2 ((LINA)_- Grand Kru County Health Officer (CHO) has refuted media reports indicating that the county has recorded additional new cases of the Coronavirus.
The CHO, Dr. Sianeh Mentoe Jackson, said the information is misleading and meant to undermine the smooth working operation of doctors and nurses in combating the virus.
Speaking via mobile phone in an early morning interview on Voice of Grandcess recently, CHO Jackson said the county still maintains 18 confirmed cases as the ceiling of cases recorded in Grans Kru thus far.
Dr. Jackson, however, said the additional cases reported from the county came as a result of mistake from the national reference lab, which she said has been corrected.
Dr. Jackson added that the Grand Kru County health team has discharged 333 contacts generated as the result of the 18 cases from patients in the precautionary observation center in the county.
Meanwhile, Dr. Jackson said of the 18 cases 16 have recovered and been discharged, while three are still in the treatment center.
The County Health Team boss is encouraging students and citizens to tighten the preventive measures in the containment process of the virus.
