Porto Novo, Sep 21 (Inforpress) – The Government and the municipalities are drafting together a national plan to restore the damage caused by the recent rains and restore normality in terms of accessibility, but also in terms of damaged homes.
The guarantee was given, this Thursday, in Porto Novo, by the Deputy Minister of the Prime Minister and of Regional Integration, Rui Figueiredo, who is visiting Santo Antão to find out about the damage caused by the rains.
Rui Figueiredo has already visited the municipality of Porto Novo, where he said he found that the rains brought “joy to the people” but also damage, especially in the access roads, which left some communities isolated.
“The first impression is people’s joy because the rainfall after three years of severe and difficult drought. But, with the rains, the damage came that isolated the locations”, said the government official.
The Deputy Minister of the Prime Minister and of Regional Integration guaranteed that the Government and the City Halls, within the scope of the national plan is being drafted, will “rebuild based on what was the damage verified”.
