Angola ranks second with more construction projects in Southern Region

Luanda, March 14 (ANGOP) – Angola was the second country in Southern Africa in 2018 to have the highest number of projects in the construction sector with 15 percent, a ranking led by South Africa with 36 percent, according to one Deloitte study published last Wednesday.

The construction sector in the Southern Africa region, which includes Angola, grew from the previous year, with an 11% increase in the number of projects (from 93 to 103) and a 40% increase in the number of projects (from 89.7 to USD 125.4 billion).

Mozambique ranks third with 14%, according to Deloitte’s « Africa Construction Trends 2018 » study,

Still in this region, the transport sector led the way in terms of number of projects (32%), followed by the real estate sector (25%), although the energy sector is the leader in terms of value (42.4 billion dollars).

Governments, according to the study, continued to be responsible for promoting the majority of projects (70%) and for their funding (30%).
