Praia, Sep 16 (Inforpress) – The Minister of Education, Amadeu Cruz, said today that the University of Cabo Verde (Uni-CV) and the Universidade Técnica do Atlântico (UTA) should be focused on training to serve “the great designs” of the country’s development.
Amadeu Cruz made these statements to the press after receiving a delegation from the Lusófona University of Cabo Verde in which, among other things, the two sides discussed “some important aspects” related to the scientific and economic sustainability of universities.
Speaking to the press at the end, when asked if he agrees that Uni-CV should continue to make the process of selecting students without admission exams, Amadeu Cruz replied that, in fact, universities have their own selection systems.
“In the background there are the exams for the selection of students attending the courses at the University of Cabo Verde, as there will be at the Universidade Técnica do Atlântico, as there will be in private universities,” he stated.
