Praia, Sep 23 (Inforpress) – SINTSEL President Manuel Barros defended Monday that the claim for a new salary scale for private security guards is fair, pointing out that the agreement made with the Government in 2017 must be respected.
Manuel Barros made this statement to Inforpress, outside a demonstration promoted by the National Union of Public and Private Security Agents, Services, Agriculture, Trade and Fisheries (SINTSEL), which took place in Praia.
As I said, the claim is fair, as they want consensus on the Indicative Reference Price (PIR) and the implementation of the salary scale, in an agreement signed in 2017 to take effect in 2018 that “was not possible”. “Even so, they promised that this salary scale would come into force in January of this year and again it was not fulfilled”, he explained.
Urged on the possibility of suspending the strike, announced for the 21st to the 23rd, he said that everything “is open to negotiations”, however, until there is a “positive response” from the Government and the National Association of Private Security Companies (ANESP), the strike continues.
