Accra, Nov. 02, GNA – The Badminton Association of Ghana (BAG), will continue with its training programs for schools across the country in their bid to develop the sport at the grassroots level.
The second training program this year for schools dubbed « Shuttle Time, » would target International Schools in the Greater Accra region.
The program would be held at the Tema International School on Saturday, November 3 and it is expected to host at least ten schools.
According to Emefa Cynthia Adamtey -Coordinator for National Schools Badminton Championship, the training was part of the build up to the National Schools Championship which comes off from December 7- December 9.
She said the Shuttle Time was expected to improve on the quality of play for participants, which would enhance the competitive nature of the competition.
« Shuttle Time is a way to get Badminton deeply rooted at the grassroots level. The training comes with its own teacher’s manual and resources to equip them to train the younger ones to get the basic rudiments of the sports, » she said.
She added that the National schools championship would serve as a qualifier into the Africa Schools Championship also in December.
