Praia, May 26 (Inforpress) – The Adventist League of Social Solidarity (LASS) has invested more than one million escudos in food baskets, targeting more than three thousand vulnerable families, especially in the islands where the state of emergency has been extended.
According to the LASS’ president, Cipriano Fernandes, 80 churches spread throughout the country were involved for this cause, under the leadership of the Seventh-day Adventist Churches Association in Cabo Verde (AIASD-CV), which contributed with 400.000 escudos, in a total of more than one million escudos, with which basic goods were purchased for the preparation of food baskets.
Cipriano Fernandes assured, in a press release sent to Inforpress, that so far more than ten tons of food have been distributed, benefiting more than 3.000 people, mainly in the islands where the state of emergency has been extended.
The Seventh-day Adventist Church in Cabo Verde reports to have embraced this struggle, with the mobilization of resources to support those who really need a helping hand, to have at least one daily meal in their home and so that there is no shortage of bread on the table of families without resources.
