Praia, Nov 5 (Inforpress) – The Council of Ministers approved at its last meeting, Thursday, the draft motion for a resolution establishing the Interministerial Commission for Digital Strategy and Government (CIEGD), which will be chaired by the first Minister, Ulisses Correia e Silva.
At a press conference, the meeting’s spokesman, Fernando Elísio Freire, explained that this Commission aims to support the Government in the definition of digital strategies and to propose legislative measures related to the technology sector.
According to him, the Commission, which will be chaired by the Prime Minister or delegate to the Deputy Prime Minister, will have representatives from the Government, from the private sector who have interest and expertise in the technology area, academies, director general of telecommunications and digital economy chairmen of the boards of the Multisectoral Economic Regulatory Agency (ARME) and the Operational Nucleus of the Information Society (NOSI) and other private or civil society entities, if necessary.
Fernando Elísio said that this Commission will propose legislative measures related to the technology area that are fundamental to implement and consolidate the technological hub and its strategic plan in order to improve the country’s competitiveness and validate the Government’s action plan on digital area.
