Bogoso (W/R), Jan. 31, GNA – The Local Committee of Appiatse, in collaboration with the Council of Churches in Bogoso, has held an interdenominational thanksgiving service for residents of Appiatse to ask for God’s guidance and protection after the fatal explosion that displaced the whole community.

The event, held at the Appiatse relief camp at Dumase new site, was a moment of worship, praise and intercessory prayers by the local council of churches.

Apostle Onyinah Gyamfi, the Church of Pentecost Area Head of Bogoso, emphasised the importance of thanksgiving in all situations.

« We had no idea that this incident would happen. Let us strengthen ourselves. From the scriptures we know what Job went through. Let us accept what happened and do away with speaking against God,” he said.

« As Christians we believe that everything happens by the will of God. We have shed tears and we are still sorrowful but let us ask for protection from the almighty and encourage ourselves with His word because with Him by our side there is nothing we cannot handle ».

Dr Isaac Dasmani, the Prestea Huni-Valley Municipal Chief Executive, called on the residents to remain calm and pledged his support towards their wellbeing.
