Accra, Nov 18, – The Ninth National Delegate Congress of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has run into day two.
The over 9,000 delegates, who have converged at the Ghana International Trade Fair Centre, La, Accra would be electing national officers to steer the affairs of the party for the next four years.
Mr Bede Ziedeng, Electoral Committee Chairman of the NDC, speaking to the media attributed the reasons for the Congress running into day-two to the large number of delegates (which was the first of its kind) and a wrong choice of venue for voting.
He said if voting were to be taking place in the opened field instead of indoors, things would have moved faster.
He also mentioned the large numbers of candidates and the anxiety among delegates to cast their votes first and go home, as some of the reasons leading to the Congress running into day two.
