Sal Island: Minister calls for taxi drivers to commit to the tourism sector

Praia, Aug 13 (Inforpress) – The Minister of Tourism called on taxi drivers, in Sal, to commit to the sector, during the act of launching the training program for tourism agents, which will cover more than 1.500 professionals at national level.

Considering that a “difficult period” is going through, Minister Carlos Santos calls for a united effort in order to, as he underlined, one can combat the COVID-19 pandemic, and all the effects it is having on the economy, jobs, and people’s incomes.

“The fact that we do not have tourists in Cabo Verde, we see that it affected everyone, companies, sectors of the Cabo Verdean economy, therefore, taxi drivers, hotels, guides, those who work in the catering (…) , have a greater responsibility to welcome our tourists”, he said.

To this extent, and in front of many participants in a room in one of the hotels in the city of Santa Maria, the ruler launched the call for everyone to commit themselves to this sector of activity so that they can work on the resumption of tourism, in a “focused and responsible” way.
