Mindelo, Feb 10 (Inforpress) – Cabo Verdean artists from Casa das Artes in Mindelo and French and Belgian musicians from Honky Tonk Jazz Band are leading an artistic / cultural exchange whose main proposals are two shows with jazz and morna music.
As the director of Casa das Artes in Mindelo, Giselle Silva, said to Inforpress, the first contact with the Honky Tonk Band Jazz Band happened before the group came to Cabo Verde, when the group sought the house of arts to produce some shows they wanted to do in São Vicente.
Thus, according to the same source, the board proposed to the foreign group the artistic exchange, which will include some of the teachers from the Giselle Silva school.
“We are exchanging experiences, in the sense we are going to sing a jazz song with them and they sing with us two mornas,” she explained, adding that the Cabo Verdean participation of musicians such as Tey Santos, Marino Mota, Avú Rodrigues and Giselle Silva herself.
