Speaker Chambers Opines ‘Weah Is A Better President’

Monrovia, Feb. 13 (LINA) – The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dr. Bhofal Chambers, says « as Weah was chosen as the best in the world when he played soccer, he can become a better President or perhaps, Weah is a better President. »

He made the statement in an apparent comparison to several Presidents in the world, with artist background that precede their leadership styles and practicality in political leadership, according to a release from the Office of the Speaker.

Speaker Chambers intoned last Friday at his Capitol Building Office in Monrovia that President Weah is leading the country in the right direction and that soon the public and vast majority of the Liberia people will realize and experience the huge efforts and gains that are concomitantly being engendered for the growth and prosperity of the country.

Dr. Chambers serves the Legislature as the Representative of Pleebo Sodoken District in Maryland County and is currently the Speaker of the House of Representatives.

He was speaking, in response and acceptance of a statement and imagery of honor bestowed on him as « Legislator of the Year 2019″ by the Editorial Team of the Daily Graphic Newspaper.

A Board Member of the Daily Graphic Newspaper, Mr. Morris Swen, who presented the award of recognition, told the gathering that his institution has followed the workings of Dr. Chambers as far back as the 52nd Legislature to present, and they have taken cognizance of his robustness in legislative matters and the astuteness he has brought to the post as Speaker of the 54th Legislature.

During the presentation ceremony of the honor bestowed on him as  » Legislator of the Year 2019″, Speaker Chambers said President Weah’s recent address to the Legislature on the state of the nation was a resounding policy interpretation and the huge achievements  made as a nation and a government, with only one year in office, in the face of a broken economy.

When asked about recent rants amongst lawmakers concerning benefits, Speaker Chambers says the leadership of the House of Representatives has encountered some earnest misunderstanding from some of their colleague lawmakers in the House of Representatives, but divulged that the issues of benefits for lawmakers are being handled amicably and colleagues have now understood most of the issues they did not understand at first.

He then assured that the House of Representatives is in good standing, the release said..

Meanwhile, Speaker Chambers, who is also the Representative of Pleebo-Sodoken District, Maryland County, has condemned the killing of a motorcyclist recently in Harper in Maryland County.

Speaker Chambers says such gruesome act which took place in Harper City should be condemned by all well-meaning persons of the county and such act must have no place to breed in the county.

The Speaker then expressed his gratitude to the residents of Harper City, the local authorities in the county, the Justice and Internal Affairs Ministries for their swift action to bring the situation under control.
