Assemblyman donates 30 coconuts seedlings

Bui, (B/R), June 12, GNA-Mr Amos Gbortse Kokoti, the Assemblyman for Bui Electoral Area in the Banda District of the Bono Region has lauded the government’s « Green Ghana’ project and presented 30 coconut seedlings in support of the project.
He made the presentation to the Bui Power Authority (BPA), managers of the Bui hydro-electric generating station to be planted within the Bui enclave.
Mr Kokoti told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in an interview at Bui the Green Ghana project was a good initiative that would help restore the nation’s lost forest, mitigate climate change impact and promote environmental sustainability.
He said trees were relevant for human survival and advised Ghanaians to embrace the project, plant, water and nurture more trees to preserve the environment.
Mr Wumbilla Salifu, the Director, General Service Department, BPA expressed appreciation to the donor, and called on residents in the resettlement communities and around the Bui dam enclave to protect the environment.
