Black Stars depart for Angola

Accra, June 3, GNA – The senior national team, the Black Stars departed for Angola on Friday evening to Angola.

The Stars who defeated Madagascar 3-0 last Wednesday at the Cape Coast Stadium would take on the Central African Republic (CAR) in their second game of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier on Sunday.

The match, which was originally fixed for CAR, but had to be pushed to Angola due to a ban on the CAR, as their stadium does not meet the requirements of the Confederation of Africa Football (CAF).

Among the players making the trip were Joseph Wollacot, Lawrence Ati-Zigi, Manaf Nuruuuden – goalkeepers.

Alidu Seidu, Dennis Odoi, Gideon Mensah, Abdul Baba Rahman, Abdul Mumin, Daniel Amartey and Jonathan Mensah makes up the defence, with Iddrissu Baaba, Edmund Addo, Elisha Owusu, Mohamed Kudus, Daniel Kofi Kyere and Mubarak Wakaso making up the midfield.

Andre Ayew, Joseph Painstil, Jordan Ayew, Kalmaldeen Suleiman, Abdul Fataw Ishahaku, Osman Bukari, Felix Afena Gyan, Kwesi Wreidt and Benjamin Tetteh completes the squad as strikers.

The Black Stars would need a win to ensure a comfortable lead on the table in the group.
