Praia, Nov 24 (Inforpress) – The Minister of Family, Inclusion and Social Development assured that the Cabo Verdean children’s problems are a “priority” in Government policy, and ensured compliance with the PNAVASC and the establishment of a Children’s Observatory.
Fernando Elísio Freire made these remarks in statements to the press on Tuesday, minutes before presiding over the opening ceremony of the meeting he held with institutions, NGOs and associations working in the area of child protection, to present Government policies and measures for this area.
“With these measures we want, above all, to put children as a national and absolute priority, working for the creation of the Children’s Observatory, to work with the National Commission on Human Rights and Citizenship,” said the Minister, who also assured a strong commitment of the executive to work for parental responsibility.
In this particular, Fernando Elísio Freire stressed that parental responsibility measures meet the need to put an end to parental neglect, with punishment of irresponsible parents who fail to their responsibilities.
