Kotoko fails to advance in Confederations Cup competition

Accra, March 17, GNA – Kumasi Asante Kotoko failed to advance to the quarter finals of the Confederation of Africa Football (CAF), Confederations Cup competition after suffering a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Zesco United in Zambia on Sunday.

Kotoko scored first in a must win game through Stephen Nyarko in the 49th minute, but it was cancelled four minutes later Jackson Were in the 53rd minute.

Zesco United took the lead in the 56th minute, which they held on till the close of the game.

Al Hilal however defeated Nkana FC 4-1, but both clubs, have advanced to the quarter finals of the competition.
