Accra, Oct. 31, GNA – Nana Oduro Sarfo, a Director of Ghana Premier League (GPL) side, Berekum Chelsea, is unhappy with the life ban imposed on Mr. Kwesi Nyantakyi, former president of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), by the Federation of International Football Association (FIFA).

Mr. Nyantakyi, was on Tuesday, banned for life from all football activities by FIFA following the controversial Anas expose.

In an interview with the GNA Sports, Nana Oduro described the ban as « unfair and harsh ».

He said, « it was unfortunate Mr Nyantakyi to find himself in his current situation, but some of us think, it was very harsh for such a decision to be made on him.

He added that, he was shocked with the nature of the ban, as it does not provide any window for Mr Nyantakyi to contest the punishment.

« The decision says, he has been banned from all football related activities with immediate effect.

« I don’t even see the sense in banning somebody for life, with the person having no option of appeal.

« Moreover they didn’t even give us a time frame for fine to be paid. When somebody is slapped with a fine they give you days to pay, but this was different.

« In his case, they do not give specific days to pay the fine and they did not tell us whether he can appeal or not, I think it is unfair, » he added.
