Brasilia, 23/05/2024 (MAP) – Morocco’s Ambassador to Brazil, Nabil Adghoghi, underlined, Wednesday in Brasilia, the “perfect convergence” between the African policy of HM King Mohammed VI, who has always made of food security “a strategic priority”, and the initiative launched by Brazilian President, Luis Inácio Lula da Silva, on a Global Alliance Against Hunger and Poverty.
Adghoghi, who delivered a lecture on the occasion of the celebration of Africa Day at the headquarters of the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, welcomed the initiative of the Brazilian President as well as the priority given to this topic by the Presidency Brazilian of G20, which paves for the way for “a pioneering and ambitious partnership” between Africa and Brazil in the fields of food security, the fight against hunger, sustainable agriculture and solidarity economy.
« President Lula’s initiative converges perfectly, in its philosophy and its objectives, with the vision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, whose African policy has always made food security a strategic priority”, the Moroccan ambassador underlined.
« In its pragmatic approach, it converges with the priority of human development, which guides and directs all the actions and initiatives undertaken by His Majesty the King in Africa,” the Moroccan diplomat pointed out.
In this context, Adghoghi said the challenges of African agriculture which objectively identify the scenarios that Africa and Brazil could jointly implement to guarantee the continent’s food security.
The Moroccan ambassador focused on Africa’s demographic data and the growing needs of its population which show “the enormous challenge that food security will represent for Africa by 2050”.
