Amanase (E/R), Nov. 15, GNA – Mallam Ahmed Harun, Imam of Amanase in the Ayensuano District of the Eastern Region, has said there is the need to continue in the effort to empower the youth in all endeavors.
He said there is also the need to recognize and reward the youth whose accomplishments in numerous ways have helped to promote the development of the nation.
Speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) shortly after interacting with the youth of the Amanase Zongo at the weekend, he said, much as efforts are being made by government, there is still more to be done to encourage them in their efforts.
Imam Harun called on the youth to imbibe the positive and meaningful attitudes in all their efforts.
The Imam said the provision of sufficient educational opportunities, health care and job creation are some of the challenges posed by the increased population of the youth, hence the introduction of the Free SHS, the Planting for Food and Jobs, One District One Factory and the Nation Builders Corps amongst others.
He called on the youth to refrain from abusing the dignity of opinion leaders and those in responsible positions.
Alhaji Allassan Hudu, the chief of Amanase Zongo, appealed for aid to help them renovate their mosque, which has not seen any rehabilitation for over 20 years.
