MONROVIA, Oct. 14 (LINA) – The Assistant Minister for Cultural Affairs at the Ministry of Information, Cultural Affairs and Tourism (MICAT) , Margaret Cooper Frank, has pledged to renovate the Behsao Town Cultural Site in Zepeh Clan, Senjeh District, Bomi County.

The Behsao Cultural site is noted for sheltering some of the greatest talents of cultural performances across the country, and also pays homage to the remains of the late King N’jola (zola) who was a revered King of the Gola ethnic group.

Speaking recently to Chiefs, elders and residents of the town, Minister Frank said that the village is a historical and cultural place that needs renovation, particularly as the government strives to upgrade the nation’s tourism sector.

She urged Liberians to come on board and develop the country, saying that the wellbeing of Liberia does not only lie on the shoulders of the government, but also on the shoulders of all Liberians.

« Let us all join together to make Liberia a place of peace and harmony,” the Assistant Minister pleaded with Liberians.

She also assured the residents of the area that the newly-appointed Minister of MICAT, Ledgerhood Julius Rennie, will make his contribution as well, adding that the Cultural Department through concerted efforts is going to contribute to see how best the site can be renovated.

Meanwhile, the President of the Liberia Movie Union (LIMU), Artus Frank, who also spoke at the gathering, expressed keen interest in the life story of the fallen King (N’jola) having listened to the historicity of Beh-Sao Town.

According to him, King N’jola’s unique life needs to be filmed to enable the World to know how great a king he was, citing that the King burial ground also needs to be revamped.
