Aflao, July 18,GNA – A man, who was unaware he was captured on a Closed Circuit Television Video (CCTV) camera installed in a shop from which he stole mobile phones and cash at Abor, near Akatsi has been arrested.

This was after he went there again to steal 10 days later.

Pascal Petersah, 25, a head Porter, has since appeared before the Aflao Circuit Court and was sentenced to a GH¢3,600.00 fine or go to prison for four years in default.

He pleaded guilty.

Mr. Michael Akemo, a Detective Police Inspector told the court presided over by Mr. Ali Baba Abature that the complainant is a businessman who owns a mobile phone shop at Abor whiles the accused lived at Aflao.

He said at about 1034 hours on May 15, this year, the accused and one other visited the complainant’s shop under the pretence of purchasing a phone.

Mr. Akemo said under their modus operandi, the other person engaged the complainant in discussions about a phone he would have liked to buy, during which Petersah stole two Infinix and one nokia phone, all worth GH¢2,000.00 plus GH¢400.00 cash in a phone pact at the blind side of the complainant.

He said upon detecting the theft, the complainant reported to police, and exactly 10 days later, unsuspecting, Petersah returned to the shop apparently to steal again, unaware a CCTV installed there had captured his first act.

Mr. Akemo said the accused admitted the act and said he sold the phones in Lome, Togo, but denied operating with an accomplice.
