Praia, Feb 13 (Inforpress) – The General Inspectorate of Economic Activity (IGAE) dismantle an illegal brandy production unit that threatens public health in the area of Achada Limpo, city of Praia, announced this Tuesday the organization.
In a statement, IGAE explains that, following the interventions, around 5.000 liters of solution (sugar, ‘racalda’ and water) were found in fermentation.
The IGAE also said that the entire volume was destroyed, with those responsible incurring a penalty that could reach three million escudos.
On the same note, he takes the opportunity to inform that, in the joint inspection actions with the National Police and City Halls, up to this moment they have seized and destroyed 7.800 liters of sugar solution + ‘racalda’ + water in Ribeira Grande de Santiago and 5.600 liters in island of Santo Antão, due to contamination.
