AWCON 2018: We are in good shape for our opener – Mali coach

Accra, Nov 16, GNA – Houssein Saloum, head coach of the Mali female national team, has said his team, is in good shape to start their 2018 African Women Cup Of Nations (AWCON) campaign against francophone neighbours Cameroon.

Mali would play their opening fixture against Cameroon on Saturday, November 17 at the Accra Sports Stadium at 18:30 GMT in the 12th edition of the tournament.

The coach said, this in a pre-match conference that, his side were a happy side with a perfect condition in camp.

He noted that, they have their eyes fixed on the major task, which would be a gateway to their success in the tournament.

« We happy to be here and everything is fine at the moment in camp. We are done with our preparations for the match is tomorrow, so we know what to do in the game. »

« We have our strategy and are well prepared. I know the team would be ready to play, they have learnt their lessons and are ready to play, » he said.

Cameroon were the runners up in the last edition of the tournament whilst Mali have never gone beyond the group level in all of its seven appearances at the tournament.
