Kumasi, June 24, GNA – Dr. Kingsley Nyarko, Executive Director of the National Accreditation Board (NAB), has been elected the New Patriotic Party’s Parliamentary Candidate for the Kwadaso Constituency.

He polled 172 votes to beat the incumbent MP, Dr. S.K Nuamah, who had 158 votes; and Mr Vincent Frimpong, who obtained 48 votes.

Three Hundred and Ninety (390) delegates from 10 electoral areas voted in the election, supervised by the Electoral Commission (EC).

Dr Nyarko told the delegates after his victory that he appreciated their support and pledged to work hard to justify the confidence reposed in him.

He called for unity among all the party members to help increase the numbers for the Party in the December Presidential and Parliamentary elections.

The Kwadaso Constituency NPP Primary could not be conducted on Saturday, June 20, along with 99 constituencies where the Party has sitting Members of Parliament because of a controversy on the delegates’ electoral register.

Meanwhile, Dr Nuamah’s defeat brings to 41, the number of incumbent MPs who have lost the opportunity to represent the Party in December.
