Monrovia, Jan. 22 (LINA) – Maryland County Health Officer (CHO), Dr. Methodius George, has lauded Senator Joe Gble-bo Brown for the huge consignment of assorted medical materials donated to the County Health Team, (CHT).
Sen. Brown on Tuesday, January 21, handed over to the CHT medical supplies containing medication, wheel chairs, drips, syringes and crutches, among others, estimated to cost US$25,000.0) in the compound of the J.J. Dossen Memorial Hospital in Harper.
Dr. George observed that the donation was “not a surprise, but part of Sen. Brown’s continuous support to the county health system.”
He believes that Sen. Brown’s dream is to see Maryland health system in an improved condition as he identifies with health centers each time he visits the county.
Dr. George is calling on other resourceful Marylanders to follow suit, and promised to use the items donated for their intended purpose.
The Maryland County Health Officer has also applauded the government and its partners for the level of support afforded the County Health Team.
He cited consistent maintenance of ambulances and adequate provision of health care delivery at various facilities across the county as evidence of government’s continuous support to the county health system.
Dr. George named the regular issuance of medical and non-medical supplies, including the assignment of seven Liberian medical doctors at the J. J. Dossen Referral Hospital as some achievements made since he took over for the past years.
The County Health Team, according to him, has put in place mechanisms that ] commits health workers to adhering to the HR policy which disallows staff from abandoning duties without permission; as well as working in accordance with the professional procedures set by the Ministry of Health.
He stressed that citizens are taking advantage of the medical facilities as a result of scores of community health volunteers deployed in various areas to encourage the use of health centers.
Dr. George has reaffirmed the County Health Team’s commitment to providing quality health service by building a resilient healthcare delivery system.
