Meet Alfred « Bukom Bomber » Lamptey – the young promising boxer

      Accra, April 19, GNA – Bukom a suburb of Accra remains the long-standing home of boxing in Ghana.
      It has over the years produced a bulk of boxers for the country with many turning out as world champions and it easy to mention the likes of Joshua Clottey, Azumah Nelson, Ike Quartey, and many others.
      Alfred « Bukom Bomber » Lamptey – is definitely the new face on the block and out to chart the path to glory in the history of Ghana boxing.
      Obviously, one of the youngest professionals in the country and was not ready to join the long list of amateur boxers in the country before turning a professional.
     At 17, he is already a professional in the Featherweight division and has established himself as the man to watch having already recorded five straight victories in his young career.
     He won his first four pro-fight via knock out, before going the full distance with the experienced Raymond Commey. He also won that fight in style giving him the hope and encouragement to box up to the continental stage.
     Under the management of Alex Ntiamoah – one of the leading boxing promoters in the country, with technical guidance coach Eben Adjei aka ‘Killer’ at the Black Panthers Gym at James Town, Bukom Bomber is ready to take on any opponent.
     The 17-year old Lamptey, already has the likes of Joshua Barnor, Emmanuel Otoo, David Kotey, Isaac Nettey and Amadu Seidu as his victims.
     The young boxer was initially nicknamed « New Sweet Pea » when he discovered but his skills and ring craft made the fans change his nickname to the « Bukom Bomber ».
     Lamptey, has all it takes to make it up there, he is skillful, aggressive, with power punches and ready to take on the world.
     “We are taking over from where D. K. Poison, Professor Azumah Nelson, Ike Bazooka Quartey, Alfred Kotey, Joseph Agbeko and Isaac Dogboe left off,” he said.
