Accra, Jan. 11, GNA – Evans Osei, unemployed was on Friday remanded by an Accra Circuit Court for possessing narcotic drugs without lawful authority.
Evans who pleaded not guilty before the court presided over by Mr Aboagye Tandoh would reappear on January 22.
The accused was alleged to have in his possession 71 wraps of substances suspected to be cannabis.
Prosecuting, Police Inspector Samuel Ahiabor said the complainants were Police personnel stationed at the Kwabenya Police Station.
He said on December 31, 2018 at about 2030 hours, the police team on patrol at around the Taifa market spotted the accused selling substances suspected to be cannabis.
The prosecution said the team proceeded to the spot and arrested Evans, who had in his possession 71 wraps of that substance.
He said the exhibit has since been forwarded to the Forensic Science Laboratory for examination and report.
