Sunyani, Oct. 18, 2018 (GNA) – The Muscle King (TMK), a Sunyani-based power lifting event organiser is to organise the maiden weight lifting competition for body builders in the Brong-Ahafo Region.
The competition would cover heavy and super weights, dead lift, squat, bench press and tyre flip, and more than 50 body builders in Brong-Ahafo are expected to participate in the event scheduled for November 3, this year in the regional capital.
Mr. Gordon Kyeremeh, a co-founder of the TMK told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) sports that the competition sought to instil a sense of discipline into the body builders and motivate them to participate in national and international competitions.
He indicated that weight lifting was a lucrative sport, hence the need to scout and help unearth and nurture the hidden talents of body builders.
Mr Kyeremeh who is the Manager of Good-life Fitness and Gymnastic Centre, in Sunyani said body builders from Kintampo, Techiman, Drobo, Sampa and Sunyani would participate.
Prizes ranging from undisclosed sums of money, certificates, citations and gymnastic kits would be presented to deserving competitors.
