Praia, Jun 2 (Inforpress) – The Government on Monday presented the project for the creation of the first Collective Intelligence Centre in Africa, with a plan to train 300 young people in the programming field by 2021 and create 3.000 jobs in ten years.
At a press conference in Praia, the Secretary of State for Digital Economy, Pedro Lopes, said the Government and the Zona 01 company recently signed a memorandum of understanding for the digital economy and for the training Cabo Verdeans and Africans who speak the Portuguese language, framed in the Executive’s objective of “attracting talent” to Cabo Verde and developing the digital economy.
For this, the Secretary of State for the Digital Economy said there is a need to train young people in this area, having also stressed that he “believes” in the value of the agreement, since one of the teaching methodologies of Zone 01 is used in School 42, “one of the largest computer programming schools in the world”.
The aim is also, as explained by the manager, to strengthen the training of young Cabo Verdeans in the digital economy area and to make companies have the best technicians in the area.
