Accra, Jan. 01, GNA-Christians have been urged to steadfastly hold onto their faith and trust God for the restoration of their lost blessings in 2019.
Reverend Michael Benson, an Associate Pastor at the Accra West branch of the Holyfire Churches International, in a sermon at the Watch-Night Service on Monday, entreated Christians to be established in faith with thanksgiving in order to invoke the blessings of God.
« As a Believer, you must substitute your murmuring with praise and thanksgiving because your praise paralysed the Enemy, » he said.
Rev Benson underscored the need for Christians to begin rejoicing even in their period of pain and difficulties with the knowledge that God was capable of restoring what they had lost in the past.
« The joy of the Lord is key to our restoration, » he said, and cited Jeremiah 30 verse 17, which says « But I will restore you to health and heal your wounds, » declares the Lord, because you’re called an outcast, and Zion for whom no one cares ».
Rev Benson said the Almighty God could restore the grains the swarm locusts and caterpillars had eaten and made the field green again only when we maintained the faith in Him.
Rev Dawood Akwa, the Head Pastor of the Church, in a brief word of exhortation to usher the Congregation into 2019, charged them to have hope for the future.
He led the Congregation to pray for God’s continued guidance and protection in 2019.
The Congregation thanked God in loud voices amidst songs of praise to acknowledge God’s grace and mercies throughout the year 2018, and asked for His manifold blessings in the coming year.
