Thunderstorms with rains expected over southern half

Accra, July 4, GNA – Mr Mohammed Braimah, the Duty Forecaster, Ghana Meteorological Agency, Sunday said thunderstorms with rains are expected over the country’s southern half later in the afternoon.

The coastal and middle areas would continue to have rains in the morning, and partly cloudy conditions in the afternoon.

The northern sector would remain cloudy with cases of thunderstorms and rain, giving way to sunny spells in the afternoon, he said in a forecast, copied to the Ghana News Agency.

President of the Central Regional House of Chiefs honoured

Breman Asikuma (C/R), July 4, GNA- The President of the Central Regional House of Chiefs, Odeefuo Amoakwa Buadu VIII, has been honoured for his dedicated and distinguished leadership.

Odeefuo Amoakwa Buadu VIII, who is also Paramount Chief of Breman Traditional Area, received the award from Addison International Center for Emotional Intelligence (AIECI) and the Village Life Royals, non-governmental organizations.

Chief Imam Osman Nuhu Sharubutu, National Chief Imam, was the first recipient of the award for his distinguished service to Mankind and his contribution towards peace and tranquillity prevailing in the country.

Odeefuo Amoakwa Buadu received a citation signed by Mr James Kwesi Addison, founder of AIECI.

The citation reads: “We congratulate you for your new position as the President of the Central Regional House of Chiefs”.

« We hope your rich expertise both at home and abroad in the corporate world will come to bear on the traditional set-up. »

Mr Addison also presented a certificate of recognition and copies of his book on managing children’s emotions.

This took place at the palace of Odeefuo Amoakwa Buadu while he and his Divisional/Sub Chiefs were celebrating the Akosidia festival.

Odeefuo Amoakwa Buadu, who is the second recipient of the award, expressed his appreciation to the two organizations for selecting him and also thanked them for working towards the well-being of children in particular.

He expressed appreciation to his divisional and sub-chiefs for the support and called for continuous assistance to achieve the transformation of the area.
