Abuja, Jan. 10, 2019 (NAN) The promotion of four clubs: Kada City, Bendel Insurance, Remo stars and Gombe United from Nigeria National League (NNL) to Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) has been described as victory for the senior national league.

Christian Chukwu, former super Eagles coach told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that the promotion meant that the NPFL would soon return to its enviable standard.

He congratulated the four clubs on their promotion, saying that all clubs in the senior league were good.

« Every club playing in the NPFL is equal until the end when winner and loser emerge.

» So every club now is like a contestant, struggling to outclass opponents for glory, » Chukwu said.

The former Green Eagles captain urged clubs to play by the rules for a viable Nigerian league.

He restated his satisfaction with the development of the senior league, adding that the future was promising.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the NNL is the second biggest league in Nigeria.
