BigCash Ghana donates to Ghana Blind Union
Agona Asafo (C/R), June 1, GNA — Mr Kwabena Osei Bonsu, the Chief Executive Officer of BigCash Ghana, a Non-Governmental Organisation, has called on Ghanaians to offer the necessary support to the less-privileged in society to enable them to live meaningful lives in this era of Covid-19.
He said the time had come for all to support the Government to fight the pandemic by showing love to one another and adhering to the safety protocols outlined by the Ghana Health Service and the World Health Organisation.
Mr Osei Bonsu made the call when the NGO and its partner; Add Your Voice Now, donated food items to the Agona East District of the Ghana Blind Union at Agona Asafo in the Central Region on Sunday.
He said the donation formed part of the Organisation’s Covid-19 Food Project and also in memory of Jamil Brookins, a business partner of the NGO, who died two years ago.
Mr Osei Bonsu said so far the organisation had served many communities including Ashiyie, Madina, Adenta, Osu, La, Nima, Maamobi, Ollebu, Accra Newtown, Kotobabi, Kasoa and other communities in Kumasi.
It would continue to visit the Ghana Blind Union from time to time to assess the needs of members and offer them the necessary assistance, he said.
Mr Osei Bonsu appealed to Ghanaians to embark on an ‘Operation Feed Yourself’ campaign by venturing into agriculture and grow more food to make the country self-sufficient.
Mr Bamford Ababio, the General Secretary of the Union, who received the donation, enumerated some of its challenges to include the provision of white canes, special wrist watches, and funds to expand members’ businesses.
He thanked the NGO and its partner for the support and called on other benevolent organisations to go to their aid.
Mr Rafiq Brookins, son of the late Jamil Brookins, who sponsored the donation, urged Ghanaians to love one another and build a better world for the future generation.
