MONROVIA,June 21 (LINA) – President George Manneh Weah has vowed to replace any member of his cabinet who will not perform up to expectation, as his government focuseson improving the living standards of the ordinary Liberian people.
« Forme, performance is rotational; we are in a gathering where we all have to perform, and so, if you are not doing well someone else will have to come to do well, » President Weah emphasized when he commissioned several cabinet officialsin the C. Cecil Dennis Auditorium at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Monrovia on Thursday.;
The Liberian leadertold the commissioned cabinet officials that they are working for the Liberianpeople and not for him, as he serves only as a supervisor, and urged them to dodue diligence to the Liberian people by ensuring that they do their best,adding « Only your best is required. »
The Liberian ChiefExecutive at the same time admonished family members of the commissionedofficials to advise them to do what is right, because they are affected whenthose who they depend on for their livelihood are out of job.
He also called on spouses of the officials to ensure that their husbands and wives are true and committed to their job and avoid bothering them while they are at work, because they are working not only for their families but also for the Liberian people.
Those commissioned are Defence Minister Daniel Ziankahn; Internal Affairs Minister Varney Sirleaf;Education Minister Ansu D. Sonii; Youth and Sports Minister D. Zeogar Wilson;Information Minister Lenn Eugene Nagbe; Agriculture Minister Mogana S. Flomo;Lands and Mines Minister Gesler Muray and Transport Minister Samuel Wlue.
Others are Minister of Health Wilhelmina Jallah; Posts and Telecommunication Minister Cooper Kruah;Commerce Minister Wilson Tarpeh; Labour Minister Moses Y. Kollie; Gender Minister Williametta E. Saydee-Tarr; Minister of State without Portfolio TrokonT. Kpui, and General Services Agency (GSA) Director-General Mary T. Broh.
President Weah also commissioned National Investment Commission Executive Director Molewuleh B.Gray; Director General of the Cabinet Jordan Sulonteh; Advisor to the presidenton Foreign Affairs, Ambassador George W. Wallace; National Security Advisor,Jefferson S. Kanmoh; Economic Advisor Charles Bright; and Religious Advisor,Rev. Emmanuel M. Nimely.
Responding on behalfof her colleagues, Health Minister Dr. Jallah thanked President Weah for theconfidence reposed in them and promised that they will carry out their dutiesto the best of their ability.
Quoting a scripturefrom the Bible, Dr. Jallah read: « Trust in the Lord with all your heart andlean not on your own understanding; In all your ways depend on the Lord and Hewill direct your path. »
Theceremony was graced by top government officials, including Vice President JewelHoward- Taylor, Sinoe County Senator Joseph Nagbe and a host of family membersof the commissioned officials.
