Accra, Jan 22, GNA – Mr. Amidu Camarat, the President of Asokwa Deportivo FC, a Kumasi based Division One Club, has called on the Normalisation Committee (NC) of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to make « restructuring of grassroot football top on their agenda ».

According to him, juvenile football was the path of football development in the country, and must be given serious consideration.

« I think that for what they are doing to restructure our football, they should give much prominence to the grassroot football. I will be very happy if they should start our football restructuring from the colts level, up to the premier league level.

« They should consider the administrative structure of all clubs at all levels of football and must look at how to make them better for the new football in Ghana.

« Proper measures should be put in place to protect referees’ integrity as well as measures to stop hooliganisms in our football, » he said.

Mr. Camarat in an interview with GNA Sports said, the NC must be given the needed support to execute their mandate effectively.

He said the NC’s mandate was to stabilise football in the country, after the Number 12 expose.

Mr Camarat said, fixing Ghana football was a herculean one adding that the NC, should be given ample time to put things in place, despite the delay.

« They are to put proper structures in place, after the mess we went through. So there is no need rushing them to finish their work, when they can take their time to do a good work. »

« The work of the NC ends in March, so I cannot assess them now until they are done, that is when we can know whether they did a good work or not. »
