Assomada, Jan 30 (Inforpress) – Santa Catarina’s mayor, José Alves Fernandes, said that the seafront construction and requalification works of Rincão starting today in an investment of about 20 million escudos will change the image of that fishing village.
The interventions, which according to the City Hall, will be completed within three months, include paved street, a viewpoint, a ‘fitness park’, use of a natural pool, walking and hiking trails, kiosks and a square.
The project also includes the construction of two monuments, one in honor of Mamazinha Ferreira (iron and harmonica) and another in memory of those who lost their lives in the methanol tragedy in August 1986. The seafront requalification is financed by the Environment Fund and paving by the Requalification, Rehabilitation and Accessibility Program (PRRA).
The mayor, who was speaking today at the launching of the work and signing the consignment notice for the first phase of the requalification of the football field in Rincão, said he believed that the seafront requalification, in addition to improving the quality of life of residents, it will also generate employment during the implementation phase.
