Monrovia, July 11 (LINA) – The Special Drug Squad Team (SDAT) of the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA) in Zwedru, Grand Gedeh County has arrested two Nigerian nationals with “high grade drugs.”

Suspects Nteje Oralefo, 47, and Samuel Okeke alias Prince, 36, are currently undergoing investigation at the LDEA Zwedru office.

They were arrested on July 10 at their home in the Moses P. Harris Street Community in Zwedru.

The Commanding Officer of the LDEA Grand Gedeh detachment, Octavius Manneh, told the Liberia News Agency that the drugs arrested from the suspects include 18 packs of heroine, two components of cocaine and four packs of precursor.

A 10-man Special Weapons and Tactics Team (SWAT) from the headquarters of the LDEA in Monrovia, headed by Thomas Sharpe, assisted in the Wednesday arrest.

The team is presently in the county to conduct joint operations with the county detachment.

Manneh disclosed that the two suspects will be investigated, charged and forwarded to the Zwedru City Magisterial Court for trial.

In a related development, the LDEA recently destroyed 462 kg of marijuana worth US$32, 276, including cocaine drugs worth US$750.00 and 18 tubes of heroine worth US$7,304 with a total street value of US$40,430 equivalent to L$6,462,728.

The “Free Zwedru of Drugs Campaign’ launched two months ago by the LDEA has made considerable progress in tracking down producers, dealers and consumers of high grade drugs in the county.
