Praia, Aug 11 (Inforpress) – The president of ACLCVBG expressed concern Tuesday about Gender-Based Violence (VBG) in Cabo Verde and promised, whenever possible, to use association’s voice before the authorities occupying the matter.
Vicenta Fernandes made this consideration in statements to the press after the signing of a partnership agreement between the Cabo Verdean Association for the Fight against Gender-Based Violence (ACLCVBG) and the Center for Trade Union and Professional Training (CENFOS).
“We, as an association, promise to use our voice before the authorities so that Gender-Based Violence will decrease and for people to live freely,” she said, noting that the agreement initialled this morning falls within the scope of strategic partnerships to combat violence against women.
According to the head of ACLCVBG, this is another partnership which has the gender-related training component and will contribute to the training of association technicians and other civil society technicians who struggle in communities on the labour and human rights field in order to overcome evils such as violence and sexual harassment at work. In this process, Vicenta Fernandes said the primary intention is to work on the labour rights of domestic workers.
