Accra, Aug. 01, GNA-Danpong Healthcare Services, a private primary health facility at Spintex, in the Greater Accra Region has started mobile healthcare services to reach clients shying away from health facilities due to COVID-19.
Mr Fred Golo, Chief Executive Officer of the Centre said, “Danpong on Wheels” would reach the sick in their homes.
“We realised many clients are not coming to the facility because of CIVID-19, so we have adopted this last-mile approach. This mobile service will have medical officers on board to provide care at the home of clients. It is the same service they would have gotten if they had visited the facility,” he told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in an interview.
Mr Golo said the initiative was also to prevent people from engaging in self-medication during the pandemic and educate the citizenry on healthy lifestyles.
He said the facility was also introducing more healthcare services to become a one-stop-shop healthcare provider with the completion of its 100-bed facility.
The first phase of the facility is expected to be completed in 2021 with the second phase, adding another 100-bed to open up the facility for more clients.
Mr Golo said the new facility would enable the Hospital to have more space to commence essential services including; dialysis, full diagnoses, and Magnetic Resonance Imaging scans.
“These are services that are highly sought after and there are only a few facilities that offer them. We have realised that kidney related issues are big and there is the need to increase dialysis centres to save lives,” he said.
Mr Golo said the Hospital would also add Computed Tomography (CT) scan and Optometry, saying, “currently we are doing only ultra-scan so we want to go further to do the CT scan.
Recently, Dr Yaw Adu Gyamfi, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the Danpong Group of Companies, handed over leadership of the Companies to Mr Prince Yamoah and Mr Fred Golo.
Mr Yamoah takes over as the Chief Executive Officer of Danadams Pharmaceuticals Industrial Limited with Mr Golo assuming the position of Chief Executive Officer of Danpong Healthcare Services.
