Nkwatia Royals donate food items to needy households

  30 Avril      30        Société (45271),

Kwahu Nkwatia (E/R), April 30, GNA- The Nkwatia Royals, made up of descendants of the late Nkwatiahene, Nana Atuobi Yiadom IV, have donated food items to about 50 needy households at Nkwatia in the Eastern Region.
The items worth GH¢4,000.00 included 50 bags of rice, bottled cooking oil, mackerel, and tinned tomatoes.

At a ceremony to present the items to the beneficiaries, Mr Daniel Otchere, the Assembly Member for Bronoso- Denteso Electoral Area in the Eastern Region said, the kind gesture was to complement the government’s efforts at cushioning the people, especially, the aged in the society, against the harsh effects of the novel coronavirus pandemic.

He said the association through its President, Mr Christian Kofi Adu, initiated a programme dubbed, ‘Nkwatia Royals Food Drive’, to support the wellbeing of inhabitants of Kwahu Nkwatia.
Mr Otchere said the association saw the need to embark on the intervention because about 70 per cent of the population of Kwahu Nkwatia was aged and needed to be supported.

Mr Otchere said the association would continue to support the people of Nkwatia through frequent donations and supporting the youth in acquiring technical education and improving sporting activities in the area.

Mr Morrison Kwadwo Adama, a retired educationist who received the items on behalf of the beneficiaries showed appreciation on the association and entreated them to continue supporting them.
