MONROVIA, Feb. 1 (LINA) – President George Manneh Weah has expressed condolences following news of the passing of Oscar Jaryee Quiah, a former Vice Chairman of the erstwhile Liberia Transitional Government.

Mr. Quiah reportedly died on Saturday, January 30, 2021 after a protracted period of illness.

He will be remembered for his selfless service to Liberia at a time when the country grappled with fragility.

As a member of the erstwhile Progressive Alliance of Liberia (PAL), Mr. Quiah was one of the early progenitors of the Liberian pro-democracy advocacy movement.

Mr. Quiah also served as Minister of Internal Affairs, Post and Telecommunications, and a host of other positions in Liberia and overseas.

The Liberia leader has conveyed his deepest sympathy to the Quiah Family, urging them to take solace in the Lord during this difficult time for them.
