Luanda, 23 August (ANGOP) – Angolan vice-president Bornito de Sousa will represent Tuesday (24) the Head of State João Lourenço at the swearing in ceremony of the President-elect of Zambia, Hakainde Hichilema.
Bornito de Sousa is due to arrive Monday in the Zambian capital, with a delegation that includes the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Esmeranda Mendonça, and senior officials from his Cabinet, the Institutional Communication and Press Office of the Support Bodies of the Vice-President of the Republic said in a statement.
The inauguration ceremony for the new President of Zambia will take place at the Heroes Stadium in Luzaka, in the presence of distinguished personalities from Zambian society, State and Government representatives from several countries and international organisations.
The 50,000-capacity Heroes Stadium is a tribute to the air disaster victims which struck the Zambian national team on 27 April 1993 on the Atlantic Ocean. The tragedy killed all the national team members.
